H.E.R.O.S. launched its 9th program in the North York area of Toronto in September 2010.
H.E.R.O.S. is brining together two schools that are separated by old city lines with The Elms (Etobicoke) and Oakdale (North York). The challenged neighbourhoods are extremely diverse where children are from over 100 countries around the world including Vietnam, India, Afghanistan and Jamaica - to name a few.
The North York initiative is Toronto's third program and receives support from Toronto Police Divisions 31 and 23 who patrol the streets.
Ice time is every Wednesday from 4:30pm to 5:30pm at Canlan Ice Sports at York University.
